Cycle For Survival
Before I get into the point of this and what this means and why this is important, I want to explain my personal connection to this. If you’ve ever heard me talk about how I got into hardcore, you’ve heard the story of my first Hatebreed show at The Chance in Poughkeepsie and the girl who introduced me to a genre of music that was more intense and urgent than anything I had ever heard. Well, I’d like to formally introduce you to my very good friend Shanna Scalzo, besides being solely responsible for my love of hardcore, she is a nurse and still a huge supporter of me and a fan of With The Punches. So this year when she told me that she would again be participating in the Cycle For Survival event (she rode last year as well), I asked if it would be OK for my to write a little bit about it on my blog and the bands, in the hopes of helping her and her team meet and exceed their goals. She gave me the OK and here I am, again, trying not to beg for money, but asking that if you have something to spare, this is a pretty great cause and I am extremely proud of my friend for participating and being so dedicated to it.
